Disabled Access

Miserden Village Hall is equipped with a wheelchair ramp to the front, and both men’s and women’s disabled toilets.
Parish Council meetings are held here.

Whiteway Colony Hall is wheelchair accessible from the front with only a small one-inch cement step to navigate (see photo). Inside is completely level. Access to the Colony Hall is via a steep drive from the main road.

The Garden at Miserden Estate is mostly gravelled walkways suitable for wider-wheels. Where the gardens have steps, alternatives have been provided.

The majority of the villages in the parish can be accessed by wheelchair, however take care as there are no pavements in the parish, and the Cotswold countryside is hilly!
Rugged electric scooters or wheelchairs are recommended for those wishing to enjoy the countryside off-road, however please note not all public paths are wheelchair accessible and many contain stiles.

As gates are replaced on footpaths around the parish, rugged electric scooter/rugged wheelchair access is increasingly becoming available. This is a slow process, but gradually we are working towards accessibility for all where possible.

Until then, we hope you can enjoy views from the paved roads, and please stop at our local pub, the Carpenter’s Arms, or have afternoon tea at the Glasshouse Café at Miserden Estate, both of which are wheelchair accessible and have wheelchair-friendly seating outside.
