The Pedal Eazy Rent Scheme is an exciting opportunity for Gloucestershire residents to discover the advantages of e-bikes for commuting, school runs, leisure, or everyday travel. Whether you’re tackling hills, facing headwinds, or simply looking for a smoother ride, e-bikes make cycling easier and more enjoyable. This initiative offers a low-cost, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional transport.

What Is the Pedal Eazy Rent Scheme?

E-bikes combine the benefits of cycling with the convenience of electric assistance, making it easier to travel longer distances, conquer hills, and navigate challenging routes. The Pedal Eazy Rent Scheme allows individuals to rent an e-bike for up to 3 months and experience how it can transform their daily lives.

Who Is Involved in the Project?

This initiative is a collaboration between:

  1. Transition Stroud
  2. Gloucestershire Bike Project

The scheme is funded by Gloucestershire County Council (GCC), which supports the purchase of e-bikes and the running of the project.

How Can You Access the E-Bikes?

Anyone aged 18 and over can rent an e-bike through the Pedal Eazy scheme. Here’s how it works:

Requirements:

  • At least one form of photo ID and proof of address.
  • Participants must be able to ride a bike. If you need support to build your cycling confidence, email thinktravel@gloucestershire.gov.uk for assistance.

Booking an E-Bike:

  • Contact Transition Stroud or Gloucestershire Bike Project to check availability and secure your booking.

Rental Period & Costs

E-bikes are available for hire on a monthly basis for up to 3 months.

Rental Rates:

  • Gloucestershire Bike Project:
    • Regular rate: £70 per month
    • Jobseekers rate: £30 per month
  • Transition Stroud :
    • Regular rate: £70 per month
    • Jobseekers rate: £30 per month

Refundable Hire Fees – Try Before You Buy!
All hire fees can be refunded as a bike voucher upon request. This voucher can be used towards purchasing a bike or cycling accessories, making it easier to transition to owning your own e-bike or bike.

Who Can Participate?

The Pedal Eazy Rent Scheme is open to anyone in the Gloucestershire community who meets the age and ID requirements. This project is designed to make e-bikes accessible to as many people as possible, helping them explore a sustainable mode of transport that fits into their everyday lives.
