Wildlife Survey and update on the Parish Nature Map

In 2013, Colin Studholme from the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust led a workshop that introduced the community to the concept of nature surveys. Subsequently some people conducted a Phase I survey walking the footpaths and fields in the parish; unfortunately, most the data from this survey has been lost.

To replace this data Miserden Parish Council has asked Colin to lead another workshop, date to be advised. Everyone who is interested in taking part in and carrying out the survey is encouraged to attend this workshop . In the first instance, they should register their interest with the Parish Clerk.

Gloucestershire Centre for Environmental Records (GCER) have been commissioned to prepare a series of maps that show the extent of the natural features in the parish. We hope to be able to show these maps on this website in due course. We would like to add to these maps with the data from  the nature survey, which will provide information about the state of the environment in the parish.

We hope to conduct this survey in the summer. Volunteers that would like to assist in this survey should contact the Parish Clerk.
